Background Story
The organization was shaped on 06.06.96 in a general meeting held at the rangamancha of Bamparbatia (tezpur). 75 persons attended the meeting. The meeting was organized by prominent social workers of the area after discussing various problems of the local area as well as various social problems of the area. The persons who were present in the meeting formed an organization under the name of eight brothers’ film social welfare society, which was later on renamed as eight brothers’ social welfare society. The head office of the organization is situated at bam parbatia, bhupen deka path tezpur. The organization was, earlier, organized for working in the field of social welfare and to enhance self-employment activities and also create public awareness about some issues like drugs addiction, aids etc. Through producing documentary and film etc. The organization, later, decided to work in the fields of Social welfare, self employment, health and family welfare and road safety activities.
